Four-time Bond actor Pierce Brosnan lists his James Bond-inspired Malibu beach house for $100 million. The 12,500-square-foot mansion with 5 beds and 14 baths is of Southeast Asian aesthetic and is every bit as gorgeous as a typical Bond location.
As a result of the James Bond movies, Brosnan and his wife Kelly continue to live the Bond lifestyle in a house that imitates something from his Bond film, Tomorrow Never Dies. The couple purchased the plot in the early 2000s for $7 million and spent 10 years turning it into a gorgeous Bond location.
The Brosnans dubbed their home "Orchid House" as the landscaping features a sea of orchids, as well as palms and gardenias. The architecture exudes a distinctly Thai/Japanese feel, with green clay tile roofs and teak gates, floors, and cabinetry.
The massive living room opens on to the beachside deck and the views of the ocean with floor-to-ceiling doors and windows. The huge coffee table on an antique rug surrounded by gilded chairs and plum-velvet cushions gives the space a regal feel.
The kitchen on the ground floor includes two large islands, two stoves, teak cabinets and floors, and crystal quartz countertops. The standout though is the large windows that look out onto the sea.
Next to the kitchen, there is an indoor dining room with its own fireplace, a butler's pantry, and custom wine storage on the ground floor. All these rooms lead directly to an outdoor seating area and multiple dining options.
The property has plenty of outdoor space. Adjacent to the outdoor dining area, you'll find this open-air seating area that features a fire pit. Surrounding windbreaks ensure that the Brosnans can enjoy the California sunshine in comfort.
The pool is in front of a two-story guest house. It's a salt water pool and it's surrounded by a seating area, palm trees, and scented tropical flowers, as well as a path to the beach.
The guest house adjacent to the salt-water pool is also used as a pool house. The surrounding greenery offers the guests privacy. Neighbors who might drop by are rumored to include Julia Roberts, Courteney Cox, Lady Gaga, and Steven Spielberg.
The two-story main house includes two suites on the ground floor, a master bedroom on the second, and lanais that wrap around it.
The upper-level master suite is the real showstopper. It takes up 4,000 square feet all on its own and has two fireplaces, walk-in closets, private his-and-her baths with floor-to-ceiling windows, and a large deck where Pierce and his wife of 20 years, Kelly, can watch the crashing waves over the Pacific.
The second floor also houses an additional guest room and a private office that can serve as a library or art studio.
Other features of the amazing mansion include a large gym, a spa with two hot tubs, a cold plunge pool, a two-car garage, and a soundproof home theater with a bar and tiered seating that's perfect for the Brosnans watching blockbusters together.
This spot is as luxurious and offers wonderful water views as the rest of the outdoor spaces or any of the indoor rooms within the property. The glamorous house is ideal for entertaining whatever the weather.
The extensive estate occupies just over one acre and includes around 117 feet of beachfront. The Brosnan family and friends can sit on these beachside chairs for a good dose of sunshine to cure those winter blues.
This indoor-outdoor favoring compound is absolutely a sight for sore eyes, and the $100 million asking price is right in line for Malibu, the famous star-studded area of Los Angeles. Pierce Brosnan must have felt right at home here.
Now that the Brosnans' Malibu beach mansion is on the market, where does the couple live now? It turns out they have decamped to Hawaii, not too far from the beach house.
