Former NFL star O.J. Simpson once had the world at his feet until it all came crashing down in 1994 when he was accused of assaulting his ex-wife, Nicole Simpson, and her friend. He was acquitted at trial but had to spend nine years in jail following a robbery charge. Now he's back out in a new house that is far from what you'd expect. Take a deep breath and tour inside!
Simpson's new home covers 5,000 square feet in Las Vegas and features five bedrooms. Though the two-story property looks a little modest, it's valued at a staggering $1.8 million. Surely, Simpson will enjoy a luxurious post-jail life here.
Though Simpson was acquitted in the criminal court, his case became a sensation around the world. The gate is necessary to keep out unwanted visitors to his house.
The community the mansion belongs to features a teardrop-shaped road, so there is always a way out if the ex-football player feels threatened. The entire cluster of properties are gated, offering Simpson an extra sense of protection.
In the middle of the backyard lies a large swimming pool that seems straight out of a fairy tale. The orange umbrella in the sitting area adds a pop of color to the whole yard.
It seems that the blinds are always closed to stop people from peeking inside. And we can find the property boasts an expansive balcony for topping his tan and a set of BBQ tools for entertaining his guests.
There's a small green in his backyard. Considering what Simpson's been through over the years, we're not surprised to find that he's trying to focus on other things. Playing golf certainly helps. Just look at how peaceful he feels!
The community has a fancy golf course that is open to all of its residents. Simpson can show off his putting skills whenever he wants to. If his golf game lets him down, he can head to the tennis court nearby and give that a try
Simpson doesn't say no to everyone. He was spotted taking selfies with children and signing autographs for his fans.
The 73-year-old is now living the life of an active wealthy retiree in Las Vegas. "The town has been good to me," he added, "I live in a town I've learned to love. Life is fine...My family and I focus on the positive."
When Simpson was still the NFL star, he and his then-wife lived peacefully in the $4 million Brentwood mansion. With the exquisite house, colorful plants, and a pool that Simpson always loved, everything seemed peaceful and beautiful.
It is actually in this sweet home where the tragedy happened. On June 13, 1994, Simpson's ex-wife and her friend Goldman were found dead in the Brentwood house, and Simpson was suspected of the murder of the two.
During trials, Simpson's fans didn't give up on him but showed their crazy love. The picture of the Brentwood house's gate witnessed itself. These signs hanging on the gate expressed their love for him.
In 1998, the Brentwood house was demolished by its new owner's will. When Simpson was informed about the news, he shrugged off and said, "It's not my house, and I could care less."
Besides the Brentwood house and Las Vegas house, there is another home in Simpson's name near Miami. The house is perfectly equipped with a large pool to enjoy the South Florida weather.
A large roundabout driveway surrounds the palm tree. Such a large open area has enough parking space for guests attending home parties.
Finally, a brief look at the place where he stayed for nine years. Simple and small.
