Julia Margulies gave fans a surprising kiss on her hit television series The Good Wife. In the season two finale, Margulies and Charles kissed passionately in an elevator, which was quite expected by bans. But it was not actually in the script.
In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Luke (Mark Hamill) has a scene to say his final goodbye to his sister Leia (Carrie Fisher). He presented this by planting a tender kiss on Leia's forehead. Hamill later said that the kiss was a genuine gesture that came to him at the moment, and he can no longer even watch that scene due to his strong emotional response.
Lost in Translation showed an aged Hollywood actor Bob Harris (Bill Murray) and his friendship with young college graduate Charlotte (Scarlett Johansson) in the city of Tokyo. When Charlie (Kelly McGillis) told Maverick (Tom Cruise) that she didn't want anyone to find out about her feelings towards him, he interrupted the conversation with a passionate kiss. The director liked the new direction rather than the original one that took the conversation as a conclusion, so he chose to keep it in the film.
Before filming an iconic scene in A Room With A View, Carter (starred as Lucy) was asked to kiss her partner Julian (starred as George). She was only 18 years old and didn't have much experience with that. She said that it looked a little awkward because the kiss in the final version of the movie was entirely improvised. But it actually looks fine, doesn't it?
In New Girl, the costars Jake Johnson (starring as Nick Miller) and Max Greenfield (starring as Schmidt) were often involved in improvised kissing scenes. Johnson has said that Greenfield often kissed him, probably more than any girl he has ever dated. The show’s creator said that he disliked the typical “will they and won’t they” romance, so only when Fox and Scully finally shared a passionate kiss, did fans start to get a little hint about what they wanted from that relationship.
